VIP Passes include: pre-show Meet & Greet in the Music Box Lounge with Dana Stevens, members of the Filmspotting team, and other friends of the show*; complimentary popcorn plus a drink in the Lounge; and reserved/priority seating for the film screening and podcast taping.
For non-VIP general admission tickets, please purchase via the Music Box Theatre's website. "The Cameraman" screening with a brief intro will start at 3 pm. See timing below.
On Sunday, June 5, the Music Box Theatre is pleased to welcome back a Chicago podcast institution for a showing of Buster Keaton’s “The Cameraman” with critic and author Dana Stevens (“Camera Man: Buster Keaton, the Dawn of Cinema, and the Invention of the Twentieth Century”). This special event will feature live accompaniment with an original score by Music Box organist Dennis Scott.
Join Dana and Filmspotting hosts Adam Kempenaar and Josh Larsen for a post-screening discussion recorded for the podcast. The conversation will include their Keaton awards for favorite performance, gag, and more. Afterward, Dana will sign copies of "Camera Man," which will be for sale on site through The Book Cellar.
Turning out “affable, insightful film analysis since 2005” and called the #1 podcast for the movie buff by The New York Times, Filmspotting can also be heard Friday nights on WBEZ Chicago.
Dana Stevens is the film critic for Slate and co-host of Slate’s Culture Gabfest.
